Where to start

A wall of guides can feel like a lot. This is the calm way through: do the Foundations first, then pick what applies to you. Nothing here is required, and there is no wrong pace.

Start here: the Foundations

Do these four first - they protect almost everything else.

  1. Secure your email It can reset almost every other account, so it is the one to protect hardest. Email secured
  2. Turn on two-factor authentication A second check, so a stolen password on its own is not enough to get in. 2FA on
  3. Start a password manager A strong, different password for every account - remembered for you. Passwords sorted
  4. Lock your phone A six-digit passcode and face or fingerprint unlock, in case it is lost. Phone locked
